Whether it’s a natural look or ‘laminated brows, there are plenty of options for this year. Shaping your brows can bring definition and style to your look, perfect for the workplace or even those special occasions.
Here’s our take on the latest lash and brow trends for 2023.
Soap or Laminated Brows
This technique involves using a simple bar of soap and a spoolie brush to create a fuller, fluffier look with precision shaping. It’s a quick and effective way to achieve a laminated look, especially for special occasions or even that fashion selfie.
Using soap is the low-cost option but if you want something that lasts longer then professional laminating is a good way to go. You can find laminating nowadays that works on precise borders to maintain a well-groomed, streamlined appearance which is perfect for work. Once you’ve got them done, products like brow gels and precision brow pens can help maintain the look and fill in any gaps if they appear.
Natural Brows for that Low-Maintenance Look
The Covid-19 pandemic has shifted the focus towards natural beauty. Heavy makeup and thick, dark brows were replaced by a fresh-faced look. Brow experts recommend using a fine, sharpened brow pencil to create thin, feathery strokes in the gaps of the brows, giving the illusion of hair.
Brushing colour into the brows with a spoolie in an upward motion helps blend it for a natural appearance. Microblading is also a popular option, providing volume and natural-looking hair strokes.
The bleached brow has dominated the fashion scene and made a splash on the runways since spring. Celebrities like Julia Fox, Kendall Jenner, and Madonna have embraced the look, going for a fully bleached-out, barely-there blonde brow.
It’s worth noting that bleaching brows at home can be risky, as it may lead to undesired results such as orange tones or extremely porous hair. Much better to get it done professionally – a great look for the summer and those beach parties!
Skinny or Straight Brows
To create the illusion of an extra-slim brow, we recommend drawing a thin line on the inside of the brow and using a spoolie brush to brush gel along the brow, combining the hairs for a thinner and more defined look. This is a great everyday look that works for most face types.
The Hepburn look or straight brow is also making a comeback for 2023. This is a little more daring but is great if you want to create a youthful, fresh appearance.
Studs, pearls, sequins, gems, and metallic foil have all been used to adorn the brows and lashes of fashion models over the last year. It’s bold and noticeable but pairs well with bleached or skinny brows. It’s a great fun look for parties, especially as we head towards the winter and Christmas.
There’s something for everyone and every occasion with the brow and lash trends for 2023. Whether it’s high summer and on the beach or swanning around the Christmas party later in the year, you’ve got every chance of creating that wow factor and standing out from the crowd.
