What is a Body Wrap?

A body wrap is the process of having your legs, arms, neck, and torso wrapped with elastic cloths (these are either dry or soaked with a beneficial mixture of minerals and essential oils). The cloths are then wrapped snugly. This means you’ll have to (literally) sit tight for a while.

By encouraging sweating, the cloths absorb toxins and excess body fluid – it feels like a real detox for your skin, which is a treat, especially if your lifestyle has been a bit hectic and you haven’t had a chance to look after yourself properly. It’s great for stimulating the lymphatic system – essentially it encourages lymphatic fluid to circulate through your body, which pushes toxins back into the blood stream, to be filtered out again through the liver and kidneys.

If all that sounds a bit intense, don’t worry – all you have to do is lie back and have a peaceful moment to yourself. Life can be hectic, and many people find they rarely get a moment to truly switch off.
