What is Microblading? Microblading is semi-permanent tattooing, which uses nine tiny blades (microblades) to deposit pigment under the skin of your eyebrows. It provides definition, enhances fullness and can be used to alter the shape of your brows. It can also be used to rplace fullness and shape after over plucking or hair loss. Beautifully natural and long lasting brows. This method can be used in any situation, whether it is a health condition (alopecia, chemotherapy), permanent eyebrow damage due to many years of plucking, if you are not happy with the shape of your eyebrows, you desire thicker and fuller brows, you want to refresh your look, or if you simply desire perfect eyebrows. Our specialist Roxana, is trained by celebrity favourite and highly respected Tracie Giles of Knightsbridge.
The first part of the process is the consultation; this is something you have as a separate appointment if. We talk in detail about your requirements and the look you are trying to achieve. This is also when you have your patch test done and book your procedure appointment.
What happens in the treatment? Together we look at colour matching to see what looks best on your skin and against your hair and eye colour, once this has been agreed there is measuring and brows are drawn on with an eyebrow pencil, this can be adjusted as many times as you like to make sure your happy with the shape and design of your new brows, only then once your happy do we go ahead with the treatment. Using a state of the art microblading tool, tiny precision hair strokes are created by hand, mimicking the natural direction and lengths of your brows. Pigments are then implanted into the channels created by the microblades in the dermal layer of the skin. The sensation is similar to a little scratch but you should not feel any discomfort. As with the permanent makeup treatment the area will look 20-30% darker than the colour you have chosen in consultation, but this will fade within 3-4 days to reveal your chosen colour. The treatment generally takes around 1-2 hours and will leave you with highly defined, ultra-realistic looking brows.
A second appointment is needed 6 weeks after your first treatment, this is usually around an hour and is a great time to review your brows to see if you would like to add more colour or change any aspects to the shape. Due to the healing process, some hairs may not “hold” as well as some others and you may have a few patches that need more colour added. This is completely normal and everyone heals differently.
